Downtown Taipei is expensive and many cheaper hotels in noisy locations or small rooms with thin walls so can hear neighbours. If you can get for a good rate (Agoda had lots good rates for Taiwan hotels) then the CityInn is great value with rooms up high and out the back being nice and quiet. Rooms also a bit larger than many others we stayed in. Close to main train station, friendly staff, nice kitchenette with microwave and free coffee machines in reception

Location near to Taipei station. Took the airport mrt from Taoyuan airport T2 which is A13 to Taipei station A1. Exit Y7 and walk about 3mins to the hotel. Check in took less than 10mins. The room is well equipped and clean. The room is clean and tidy every day. It is an excellent choice hotel to choose when coming back to Taipei in the future.

Staff at the hotel was super friendly, patient and helpful, especially Debby. She even wrote a personalised message. We booked 3 rooms for 4 nights. Location is very good and is easily accessible from Taiwan train station. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. Rooms are small but good enough for a good night’s rest.

PROS: 1. Hotel is only 400 meters away from Taipei main station, 750 meters from the Ningxia nightmarket, and is surrounded by several nice eateries (we liked Sihai Soy milk, a small family-run store with a very local ambience and nice food). This hotel is adjacent to Cityinn branch 3 so both of them are well located. 2. Rooms were always spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. 3. Complimentary snacks, coffee and tea are available in their kitchen. Free instant noodles and seaweed soup are also available from 22:00 to 6:00. 4. We liked their smart toilets similar to those in Japan. 5. Reasonable room rates. 6. They may arrange airport transport and even chartered car tours for you. (We went on a tour with Mr. Wang and he did his best to show us around and give us information on the places we passed by even if he was just supposed to drive us to Yangmingshan park) 7. The staff! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We were still received very warmly even if we checked-in at around 3 am. The receptionist (Sorry we did not catch her name) received us very warmly and kindly showed as around to brief us on the hotel facilities. CONS: 1. Rooms were a bit small, there was no closet, but there are foldable bars where you can hang your clothes. 2. Internet speed is good (about 80 mbps) but for some reason we can not connect to some websites or VPNs

Cityinn hotel chains are usually my top choice whenever i come to Taipei. This time i stayed in Family room of Cityinn Hotel Branch II. The hotel is strategically located in the city centre with easy access to public transport, night market, convenience store, shopping and tourist destinations. The front desk staff are friendly and very helpful. The room is spacious and the bed is very comfy, the only problem that i think they need some improvement is the toilet & bathroom ventilation system. The hotel provides free self-operated laundry service, free water & snack station and after 10pm the hotel provides free cup noodles as supper. I will definitely come back again.
